We are now looking for a new social worker for our investigation unit 6, consisting of 12 social workers, two senior social workers, and a unit manager.

You will be part of one group with six social workers and a senior social worker who will lead and support you in your official duties together with your colleagues.

The unit is part of the BoU Authority department, which consists of a reception unit, six investigation units, two of which have a special focus on domestic violence and young people at risk of criminality, as well as two units for children placed in foster homes.

The job responsibilities include investigating and assessing the needs of children and young people (0-18 years) for support, deciding and following up on interventions based on risk and protective factors with the support of BBIC, as well as according to applicable legislation SoL, LVU, LUL, and LBSB. The work includes meetings and conversations with children, young people, and families, where documentation is an important part. One goal is to increase children's voices and participation - conversations with children are therefore a central task. You have an important role for the children and families we meet, and we work together to succeed. Collaboration with each other, cooperation with our service units, other partners, and important people for the family is therefore important.

We see introduction, supervision, and professional development as a given. In addition to the introduction, you will be offered continuous professional development through the Professional Journey and training in other methods available in the department. Your senior social worker and your mentor will be a close support during your introduction, in addition to the department's introduction coordinator.

You will have your workplace in pleasant premises at the social office on Borstbindaregatan 12 A, where all our investigation units and reception are located together in an office landscape with fixed workplaces. The office is centrally located near Hjalmar Brantingsplatsen with good communication opportunities.

Qualifications

A degree in social work is a requirement. You need to have knowledge of child development and the relevant legislation in the area. Previous experience of official duties and/or other social work with children and young people is an advantage. You need to have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of Treserva and a B driver's license are advantageous.

The role of a social worker requires you to take responsibility for both your own and the group's tasks, as well as to think of those we are here for and their best interests. It is important that you plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively.

About Us

The Social Administration Hisingen is part of the social services in Gothenburg City. We are one of four social administrations. We work purposefully to create a better everyday life for the residents of Hisingen.

We offer support within individual and family care, social emergency services, assistance with addiction, and in integration issues. We also work with recreational activities and preventive work regarding public health, community planning, local safety work, and integration issues.
